Here is my train of thought lately: My train of thought is less of a train and more like one of those guys standing alone on a platform with the little lever. There are fewer and fewer ideas that actually tow one another in a connected sequence the way that a train does its cars.
This is how it goes. Parenting and family life is exhausting sometimes, but it is beautiful and worth it. That's just not always clear.
Everyone is at least somewhat familiar with the power of screens. We lose track of time in front of the stimulating blue light of TVs, tablets, and cell phones. This loss of time pulls us away from beauty of life around us that is more meaningful though less stimulating.
Making others happy is not always a bad thing, but when the happiness of the person blinds us from the actual person right before our eyes, it is only adding to the problem that the individual is unseen.
